This AlliedSignal facility was recently purchased by Honeywell. This is the Fiber Division which makes various Aramid Fibers as well as textile fibers, primarily for carpeting. Our involvement has been with both Commissioning and Service of several Circulation Heaters - in this case Dowtherm. One is the first and oldest Heater in the facility - fired with #2 Oil. It has been in operation since the 50s - mute testimony to the rugged design of equipment produced by our Client Struthers Wells Corporation. It had been retro-fitted with new Burners, and was eventually fitted with upgraded Controls which greatly improved its' operation. Another is a new Heater, also by Struthers - this one fired with Natural Gas and controlled via a Modicon PLC.
